Classical Music

Every once in a while there comes a friday in which I just need to kick back and relaxe. In a way commemorate my week's performance. Usually, I recline my chair and put on some relaxing music, mainly jazz, blues, or classical, on my sound system. Then I just close my eyes and "listen", transcend. Today I put on a verson of Bach's "Air on G String" by Donal Fox. I don't know, there is just something about that song that is so inspiring and unhuman. Have any of you a song which does this? Just curious.

Yay.

I always get moved by Beethoven's Violin Concerto, and any of Mahler's symphonies just blow me away.

I listen to a lot of classical, both popular and obscure...many times a week. It's one of the reasons I went with Dynaudio's over other manufacturers.

For "pop" classical music, check out Venssa Mae, she is pretty amazing. She also has some more "normal" classical performances, so you get a bit of everything with her.

I enjoy classical at times, I really like just about everything. I find people who listen only to classical to be somewhat pretenious and missing out on a lot of other good non-classical music out there.

I LOVE classical music. Bach is one of my favorite composers.

I suggest Neo classical too. Such as Yngwie Malmsteen. However, the best classical electric guitarist, IMO, is Uli Jon Roth.

GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR!!! "Classical" music is NOT, repeat NOT $%!@ing relaxing! Man am I tired of hearing it mischaracterized as such. There are classical pieces that are relaxing but the whole genre is far from relaxing.

Now that I've caught my breath... I really have nothing more to say. 😀

Haha, Alright man I hear ya. Come to think of it, "relaxing" is just a property of some music in every genre. Heh, I consider some Mars Volta songs "relaxing" 😛

Good man. 🙂 Anyone who finds, say, the Mozart Requiem to be relaxing has some major issues.

I listen to all sorts of music, but there are a select few classical pieces that I consider the greatest music I've ever heard.
