classical Athenian Greek is too damn difficult to memorize

Somebody has to either sympathize with me, or b!tch me out for a bit of procrastination (although not a ton). Dead languages are interesting to learn, but the tests really suck....

Go study, then have a shot of ouzo.

Then, before the test, have eight more shots just to ensure the Greek is still in you.

I promise you'll do fine.

haha - it might actually make this stuff make sense

Trust me - Greek is like Latin X3 as far as difficulty goes. I can do Latin decently with a bit of work, but Greek spanks me around hard.

I want to take Greek at some point, maybe come back to school after I've worked for a few years (getting my BBA Accounting/BS Econ at the end of next year, going to get my CPA License, law degree, etc.) and get a double degree in Greek and Latin. I'd like to get a little bit of Aramaic and Hebrew in there as well.

That stuff is nuts - crazy reading backwards and all. Although true Greek tends to be in all caps, and can be written in any direction. Vase iconography is cool.

I remember taking Attic Greek - when I look back 5 years later the main thing I got out of the classes is a better understanding of the phrase "It's all Greek to me".
