YES, recently there was a strong movement to get freebie posters from Maxell in the audio forums of that scene. :thumbsup:
 
I had ~100 of these that I spent hours recording to - they sounded great in the early 80's. Of course, they were all stolen out of my car...
 
Ah the old stolen out of the car story, I had over 100 good dead and fish tapes stolen out of my car, I bet the idiot who stole them got home and expected el debarge, or miami sound machine, and got China cat sunflower, I visualized them being slowly erased by bad mixtapes taped off the radio.......
 
I remember the ad. However, I never knew that was their logo. 🙂

I bought some many Maxell and TDK tapes so I could listen to my LP collection in the car/walkman. I also traded a lot of Genesis/Yes/King Crimson boots. I even had a Maxell frequent buyer card or something like that.

Hmmm. Normal/CrO2/Metal. Those were the days.
 
How about recording tricks such as selecting ferrichrome bias on your deck when recording to metal or chrome? This would boost the highs right out the window! 🙂
