Class Rings?

Just wondering if I should get a class ring, most of the girls (and just so you know, I'm a girl too) at my school have them. I'm thinking of just getting one from walmart, which would be around $150 max, which I think is probably much better then what Josten's (school's ring company) would charge. Also, I want a silver colored one, but seem like most people wear gold class rings. So what do you guys think?

rather than quoting above, they truly are waste of money.

they're bulky, ugly and pointless... come on.. you gonna wear your High school pride when you go to COLLEGE and after? How long do you think you're gonna wear it for?

I got one, wore it all the time my 10th grade year, now it sits on a shelf....even if you don't wear it, I still think its something good to have. But then again, I have more school spirit than the average anandtecher.

go spend $150 on clothes and i think you will be a lot happier. hell, i'd be alot happier

i got one when i was in hs - i got the smallest one possible so it wouldn't be huge on me.

i like it. i just haven't worn it because i got an even awesomer ring to wear so i've put it away. i'd still bring it out from time to time. i actually wore it in college.

get one that you like... mine was cool.. i wore it all the time, but not in college... i would have gotten silver, but my mom insisted on gold. if you'll wear it - get one. i dont think mine was a waste of money.

I don't think it is worth the money because i don't wear any rings or jewelry...and quite frankly I don't like how the ones they are selling at my school look.

Don't mind these tightwads. If you will wear it, you will get your money's worth. I never took my HS ring off until I got my college ring 4 years later. I haven't taken my college ring off since I graduated college 3 years ago.

It's only a waste if you don't wear it.

If you'll wear it, get one. If I had to do it again, I'd have gotten one a little cheaper than the one I got. As for college rings, I'd definitely say to get one of those. I got mine a few weeks ago and I love it.

So waste of money for a HS ring, but definately get the college ring? I think I may still get the HS ring, if I can find the right one.

I thought it was a waste of money, so I didn't order one. I really do not want to remember my High School, because the people in it make it a living hell.

I say go for it. $150? Yeah its a little costly. Being able to have your kids open your dresser drawer in 20 years and ask what it is and then having great flashbacks at the cafeteria and the first time you got drunk or did something stupid and fun in high school? Thats priceless.

I regret not buying mine. I've got my college one ordered though.
