Class Ring - worth it or not?

I start my last semester as undergrad in about 33 hours and if I dont fsck it up, I might graduate this May 😉 My question is to people who bought class rings. Did you think they were worth it or not? I am getting $500 (for my birthday + graduation gift ) and I figure I can chip in some more and get a kick ass ring or waste the dough.

I am hoping to get in to a good grad school and buy a ring when I finish my PhD but thats too far off.

I bought a HS class ring, don't plan to buy a college ring. All my HS ring does is sit around collecting dust.

Well, if I spend on anything else, it will be a sweet laptop (like the latest powerbook) or one nice as hell gaming rig (was planning on getting that anyway, this just ups my budget).

Nobody thinks class rings are worth it? I have always wanted a ring so I guess I'll just get a regular one.

It's always been a scam to cheat students out of their parents' money. Shame on the school for allow such things to go on.

Didn't get one, but I refused to buy one simply because there was no point in getting one. You'd never wear it and it's your high school. If you want the old feeling back, look at your yearbook or something. I can't believe people actually want one as well.

I didn't get a HS ring, but like a idiot I got one for college. What a waste of money. All you need is your diploma, yearbook, and fuzzy memories of that night with the ugly chick.

I didn't buy a ring in hs and I probably won't buy one when I graduate college. I could care less.
