"Class A" Refurb

Can someone tell me if this is true or not:

a product deemed as a "Class A" refurb is a product that has never been used;
a store bought that product from another store that has gone out of business and by law, they have to label that as a "class A" refurb.

The reason why I'm asking is becuase I recently purchased a camera and that's what the sales rep told me. It's a brand new camera but classified as a "class A" refurb since it was bought from another store that went out of business. The camera has "never" been used....it looks believeable as I got the camera yesterday and everything looks brand new in the box. It still has the full manufacturer's warranty.

Can someone enlighten me?

Thanks

I bought a 21" monitor last year that was "refurbished" from dell, when the box came to me it had a redirect from nortel... so I got the thing brand new from nortel.

I got a class a refurb from a computer place in Cleveland ohio and its been running for almost 2 years! Gotta love my g500 21".

so is the definition of class A as defined by the sales rep true?

that it's still a brand new item but just has that label because it's been repurchased off another store?

Might just one that was purchased, opened, and then returned. And then legally not able to be sold as new.

I'm kinda still doubtful....what's there to tell whether or not if it's a true legit "class A" refurb or the run of the mill manufacturer's refurb?

Heh, on things like cameras, factory refurbs are BETTER - every one of them has been hand inspected and repaired, whereas new units are only spot checked.

hmm....never thought of it that way before EyeMWing 😛

the pessimist in me always bears it's ugly head first
