Well getting my new comp soon(this is my 2rd or 3rd thread bout harddrives with it:p), and I'm putting my old hard drive in it...what I'm wondering is if I have a bunch of programs on the old hardrive, and I installed them on the new harddrive as well, would something happen when I try to launch them? The new hard drive would be the master, the older the slave.
Example: I have msn on the old harddrive. I install msn on the new harddrive. I go to start menu, click MSN. Will it launch, screw up, or launch off the old harddrive?
Edit:eek:n windows XP home

Thanks

If you copy it over directly, you'll probably have to manually add it to the start menu/program files.

It shouldn't clash.

Nope. your computer don't "remember" you had installed anything in the old drive.
The program you launch are where your programs are recently installed

are you talking about opening up shortcuts? if you install windows, you shouldnt have any shortcuts, and all the ones you make, will have paths to the new hard drive.

I think he meant this:

Old Windows, old drive with programs installed.

New comp setup on a new drive. Setup programs on it as well.

Plug in the old drive as slave, some programs exist on both drive.

Will they clash?

So the answer is no

You are even save to just wipe out the program on your old HDD
