I've seen an NSX. They're dinosaurs and fanboys keep on hyping it up.
I retract what I wrote. I think the S2000 is okay and seems very non-Honda. But I'd rather buy an Audi before I'd consider an S2000.

You need to drive one. The fan boys are right. When you realize the car is essentially 15 years old, you will shit your pants in disbelief.
Audi has never made anything even remotely comparable to the S2000. You'd rather get an Audi (which one?) because it suits your preference more, not because it's the better car.
The S2000/NSX are Honda at its finest -- high revving, minimalistic, and refined sports cars.
*sigh*

I'd have to submit the R8 as a proper sports car. In terms of inflation, it's almost a perfect modern replacement for the NSX comparing yetserday's dollar to today's. Fantastic handling, middling power, unique looks.
Honda/Acura > Audi for reliability/simplicity though.
And yes, the NSX is still an astonishingly good car. Race spec versions are still highly competitive to this very day.

"Can't Stop Me Now" ... it seems to have reviews from 2003-2004 and it is great. I think he has several of these books. My wife bought it in the UK though...I don't know if they circulate them over here.

They *were* Honda at its finest - the NSX being built mostly on late 80s technology and the S2000 on late 90s technology. The fact that they're still quite a hoot to drive does speak to their innate goodness, but they are seriously outgunned by today's current models.
The only NSXs that are still competitive have forced induction with seriously modified suspensions, brakes, wheels and tires. The current 911S is easily faster and far more track ready. The R8 is what the NSX replacement should have been.
The S2000, while not as dated as the NSX, also should have been let go a couple years ago. The fact that the current CTR is faster on any track illustrates how much technology has advanced from the late 90s.
This is coming from an ex-S2000 owner (2004 AP2) who desperately wishes that a new S2000 would be built by Honda up with the same characteristics as the current car, but with 300hp+ and the newest in engine/chassis/suspension design, all for mid-30s. I would buy it today.

Seriously he dosen't hate american cars, he calls the american designers out on the cheap crap they put into their vehicles. I was ROFL when he reviewed the F150. The truck really serves no purpose in the UK, its just too big, but he did take the time to just rip up the complete cheapness of the interior, and the horrible body fit.
He annihilates the british cars as much as any other, and in general calls a spade a spade.

Lol, I know the car gets much hate, but I had the '95 Dodge Avenger 2.0l 5 speed, was one of my favorite cars. Sitting in it felt like a cockpit, everything was just placed well, the car seemed to hug you, the shift lever felt good in my hand (much nicer than the cheap plastic I had to trim on the Altima)
A car that's widely regarded as one of the worst ever I actually loved. It would get up to 40mpg, cruise happily up to 90 mph (and still pulling) for the few miles of straight stretch as I fled Ohio like a cat out of a litterbox.
I cried when the armored car turned into me and totalled the poor baby, replaced it with a 99 Avenger ES, which was everything the car is reputed to be.
Its amazing how a crappy V6 coupled with a crappy automatic can ruin a car.
I would agree....most of the cars just scream rice or econobox. I like Caddy's new slogan as well "When you turn on your car...does it return the favor?"
I love the British wit and can't wait till Top Gear comes back! (The is no way the US copy is going to succeed.)

Over 45k miles with no repairs (got it used), just rolled over 80k, comfy for long trips
(sedan, not the Mitsubishi coupe version)

Um... contradiction much? A whiny, high-revving, peaky motor that needs to spin so fast it can send the pistons into orbit if it blows, is FAR from being "refined". An old Buick straight-8 that can be tuned to run at 250rpm without disturbing a glass of water sitting on the valve cover is refined.
