I'm thinking about going to Clarkson next year for EE. I attended the open house on March 31st and I was really impressed. The engineering displays and team projects were very impressive. The classrooms were also nice. The campus was taken care of really well too. Now, I know when there's an open house they show off their projects to impress, and everyone is trying to impress the perspective students. But I am wondering from past/present students, what do you have to say about the school? The good and the bad. Thanks for any input 🙂

I do not have a first hand experience. However, the past summer I interned with a guy that went there. He was pretty smart, no doubt, but he complained about his school, particularly the lack of social life and diversity. Besides that, I know that it's got a really good engineering program.

I almost went there, but ended up at RPI instead. It was just too far from my home. The education is great, but I do agree that I've heard the social aspect can be a bit tough due to it's remote location. I wouldn't worry about that too much though. There's always a ton of stuff to get involved in at college... good luck!

The location is the reason I'm debating. Everything I saw was great as far as the campus, classrooms, etc. The professors were also nice and easy to talk to. Where are you from? I'm down in the Woodstock area and it was about a ~4 hour drive up there...

4 hour drive isn't bad. I'm originally from Eastern Long Island, so it would have been ~8 hour drive home at the time.... that and I had a better financial aid package at RPI.
