i work in a pharmacy as a tech and this is good news for those without insurance, but bad news for those with insurance. insurance companies wont pay for the drug any more and this could mean bad things for sufferers. im sure we at the pharmacy will somehow get blamed for it...oh well.

I was going to say that we've had Claritin over the counter for years, and then I read the article and saw "like it long has in Canada". I didn't know it wasn't sold without a prescrip in the US.

I wish they'd do this with bith control pills. Getting my girlfriend to go anywhere near a doctor is a pain in the ass.

get depo, lasts longer and not as bad as birth control pills....

or try what's that thing that is implanted near the upper arm? lasts 5 years?

No, it's to encourage the women to get their yearly pelvic exam. If they didn't have to go in for the BC script, they probably wouldn't go at all.

Also, BC's have way more side-effects, more dangerous side-effects, and should not be taken if you happen to get pregnent.

Not to worry. There is Clarinex, which is basically the same thing. It was made because of this little event and the fact that Claritin is going generic.
