Clarifying rules on posting about rip-offs

We have another one of these.

I thought people were not supposed to post about bad deals that don't involve Anandtech or a member/trader of the Anandtech community. I don't mean to be an @ss, and I'm sorry for their plight but, the boards have enough problem deal/troll threads that we don't really need the extra clutter in FS/FT regarding out-of-forum rip-offs.

Just wanting to clarify this a little.
 
I agree with you to a certain extent - but we're all members of the trading community - sooner or later that bastard might come to AT and rip some of us off - it's better for everyone to watch everyone else's back than turn a cold shoulder. I do think that the thread might be more appropriate if it was in OT though.
 
Yep, these sorts of threads would be more suitable in "Off-Topic". Tried to post that in the thread but I'm having posting issues (takes from 90seconds - 2 minutes for my posts to go through, if they don't timeout)
