Clarification on "end of life" chromebooks

So the 6 year old bogarding my macbook pro during school hours has proven frustrating and I'm considering getting her the cheapest chromebook on ebay for distance learning/zoom. When a chromebook is end of life it just means that updates end, right? Still should be 100% for web apps, etc.? Or do plugins stop working?
