CL3 is the slowest Cas timing you can run RAM. Cas2.5 or Cas2 would be better. But if you are running an athlon64, timings dont mean much.

Heres whats going to be running on the new computer.

Biostar M7NCD Pro
AMD Athlon XP 2700+
Kingston 512 PC3200 CL3
ATI Radeon 9600 Pro
Maxtor 80gig 7200

I hope the memory isan't going to cause too much of a problem.

Well with his setup I don't think its worth the big $$$ to go for a 2-2-2 stick. Plus he has a 333FSB proc, my old 2700+ couldn't overclock that well so heh.

That Kingston stick is fine. :)

I agree with Br, that kingston stick will be fine for that rig.
The CL3 doesn't mean it's grand :) but it'll do the job (should do the job...) just fine.

He is not asking if it will work or not, he just wants to know what it means. DUH! :)

Thanks for the info.

I was also wondering if anyone had any experience with overclocking on this mobo, I've read a few reviews saying that it can OC, I know a little about OCing but havn't had any actual personal experience with it. Seeing as my current mobo sucks and I cant OC a single thing on it. I didn't have alot of money to spend so I went for this board, it had good reviews...the ones I read anyway. Except for something about it being a little to small for the HSF to fit on corretly but they said they eventually got it on.

I am using crucial value ram(cas3 @ 200mhz) and it runs great. Spend the money you save on the memory on upgrading another part of your comp, or, take your girl out to a really expensive restaurant
