CL2 is faster. You should repost in GH, this is the wrong forum - you'll get answers faster there.

wrong forum. but if you buy cl3 and run all of it together it would be the same, however if you get the cas2, any you want to run it at cas2, you will be running your existing cl3 out of spec, it may not run properly, but lots of times will.....

Additional RAM - Should I get CL2, or does the CL3 impose a bottleneck?

I don't think CL3 is much of a bottle neck... So frankly I'd just buy whatever add it to what's there and run at CL3. I mean how much do you really expect to gain out of CL2 anyway? For most gaming you'll be lucky if you get one frame!

Locutus, actually.... making the setting from Cas3 to Cas2 makes a NOTICEABLE difference... at least with me.... not with gaming... but loading times of programs/windows/etc.

I'm glad it made such an impact on your system preformance... But the increase in memory will affect system preformace much more than CAS Latency. As a matter of fact, not too long ago I replaced some 256 CL2 memory for 512 CL3 memory and my system is much faster!
