Can someone please explain to me what the CL = 2.5 is measuring or saying about the memory?

it is the Cas (Column Address Strobe) latency, basically it is a measure of how fast the memory is accessed. all you need to know is lower is better

Alright....thanks for the explanation but it gives me another question to ask.

I'm using an MSI kt4v motherboard, an xp 2400, a 512 stick of Apacer ddr 2700 ram, geforce 4 ti4200, an old maxtor 20gig hdd, burner, floppy, cd drive. I boot it up and get no picture and three beeps from the computer. I thought that meant ram, am I wrong?

Would the board and ram not mix well?

Thanks in advance for any ideas.

what kind of bios?

try to reseat the ram

edit: it looks like it has AMI bios and according to this it is a memory issue. you should try to put the memory in a different slot
