Civilization V Compute Test

Which leader does Anandtech use for the Civilization V Compute test?

I'm just curious because my overclocked GTX 670 wipes the floor with all of the cards they use in almost all of the leader tests, so I want to make sure that I'm looking at the right information since I highly doubt that my OC did so much to improve the performance.

They don't use the leader benchmark for the compute test. They use the texture decompression sub feature of that benchmark. From the benchmark .doc in the game directory:

Leader Benchmark

The Leader Benchmark is designed to test advanced rendering features which we use for our leader scenes. This test can run through any of the leader scenes specified and report the performance for that leader. Also this test can be used to measure the performance of Compute Shading features via our variable bitrate compression technology. This compression test measures the GPGPU performance of the video card. To run in leaderhead benchmark mode, start the app with “-LeaderBenchmark “
To run in compression mode, start the app with “-LeaderBenchmark –compression”.
Note: Compression mode will do nothing but continually decompress and display textures for the given scene for the specified duration. The leaders themselves will not be displayed.

I bolded the part you're looking for.

Ah, yeah. That's the one I meant.

I ran the decompression benchmark and it automatically used all the leaders, while in Anandtech's articles, they say that they only use one leader. However, they don't specify which leader that is.

Oh ok. Maybe they take the lowest score that comes out of the log file? I'm not sure actually. Their result in the 680 review is 219.5 fps, and the lowest one for me was Ramkhamaeng with 231.73 fps. Highest was Darius with 551.02 fps.

My lowest was Ramkhamaeng with 235.24 FPS, and my highest was Darius with 530.65 FPS, so I'm guessing they used the lowest one.

Hi Chris; indeed we did.

Code:
"C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\sid meier's civilization v\Launcher.exe" /dx11 -LeaderBenchmark -compression -duration 45 Ramkhamaeng_Scene.xml
