I found a 2006 Civic Hybrid with 45K miles on it for 12,000. Is that a good price?

My question is about the Nickel battery. How often do you have to change those and how much do they cost? I don't want to buy this car and be stuck with a ton of repairs later on.

thanks

Well, in CA they are warrantied for 120k miles I believe. Many people have the older Insights running well beyond that on original batteries. Based on the way the batteries are utilized (never full charged or discharged by a large margin) I'm guessing they will last a long time. The replacement cost is high though...at least $8k I'd guess.

EDIT: By mentioning the warranty I'm implying that they should last a lot longer since the manufacturer would never offer a warranty they'd lose money on 😉
