Civ Revolution for 360

I'm a long time player of Civ 4. I love the game. Since I've moved my laptop to Linux, Civ 4 isn't really supported by WINE. I thought I would give Revolution a try.

My main gripe with it atm, is you can't move stacks of units at once. If you have 10 units and and you want to move them all to the same spot you have to move each individually.

Am I missing something(I hope so), or is that just a really poor design choice?

Also is it only possible to build 1 nuke?

Been a while since I played Civ:Rev but you can take a stack of three or more units and convert them into an army.

Yeah, I talking stacks of armies. Like 5 legions and 2 archers for example. Move all of the at the same time, instead of individually.

Oh. Well, you can't. Taking units and converting them into armies is as close as Civ:Rev gets to moving a stack.

As queasy said you can make armies. You also only get to build one nuke at a time.

One at a time? Does that mean you can use one and then build another?

That seems like a really bad idea on their part.

Welcome to the dumbing down of gamers thanks to consoles. I play on my 360 much more than my computer (due to many reasons), however, it means games are way less complex.

My advice? Stick to PC for complex games such as Civ and MMOs.

i liked the simple version on the xbox. made it easier and more fun i think

Same for the most part. The Civ-lite experience was enjoyable and allowed me to play without worrying about looking up at the clock and realizing it was 4 AM. 😱

So true. My wife does not allow me to play Civ4 anymore after too many lost weekends 🙂. She does allow me play CivRev so I can still get the occasional Civilization fix.

The more I play the more I find out they cut.

The Diplocy is terrible. Your options are basically give tech or war. Nothing else. There is barely any trading, unless the AI suggests it.

No Health. So City's can grow unchecked.

Natural Resources don't do anything but add more gold, food etc. So you can building horseman with out access to horses.

No Auto-Explore???????

Siege Units are just like reg units. No bombarding, no splash damage.

No Moving units in a stack

Only 1 Nuke per game

Planes are just like reg units.

Can't upgrade units to modern units

Can't build land improvements.

and many more I'm sure.

Civ Rev has to be taken for what it is. I've had some fun with it, but it really has nothing in common with Civ on the PC aside from the basic concept of building cities and armies.

Indeed. There is a reason it is called "Civ Lite".
