got back on the kick of playing Civ 4 recently. One of the very few games I've played that I will come back to now and again. In any case, I'm playing the Gods of Old mod and am up to about 1000 AD and the game is crashing during my end turn. It's at the same spot every time. Google search pulled up nothing. I've got the latest patch. Anyone got any ideas what may be causing the problem. Would love to get it corrected, because I'm on the bring of wiping out the Japanese.

That's what sucks about using mods, often times they might not be very well tested and could lead to problems like this. I had used several popular mods with Civ4 (Total Realism one rocks btw!) and every once in a while get into a situation like that.

Have you tried going to the mod makers web site or posting in the mods section of civfanatics.com to seek out help? Yeah another problem is you go to firaxis tech support they will just say the mod is the problem without any hesitation.

But yeah I can keep coming back to Civ4 and always get immersed into it again- very well made game!

PS. Is it crashign during a computer player's turn then? What thing I did when one of my games was crashign during a computer's turn and I was desperate- was I used the World Builder cheat and started deleting the units of that AI player and eventually the run was able to progress. This is really only if you are very desperate!

Oh and dont u have autosaves you can try to load? By default doesnt the game autosave for you? Or did you turn that off? Look for a slightly older autosave and try from there
