Serious question: what the hell is wrong with the US? I don't think anyone in any other first world country cares about religion. I attended a government funded Catholic high school in Canada. There were zero protests. Nobody cares.
If I remember correctly, certain parts of Canada let you state on your property taxes which school system you want to pay for. Do you want your taxes going to Catholic schools or do you want them going to public schools? I did a quick google search for property taxes and Catholic schools, and this was the top result:

Why do you think it's okay for government to favor one religion over others? Liberals don't hate religion, they just don't want the government playing favorites, you know... separation of church and state, like the FF wanted.

I'll byte with just one post though as to not distract the thread. Suppose laws state that you can have hundreds of different types of weapons but not type XYZ, was your right to be armed infringed? Liberals say no, your right was not infringed, since you can still legally own arms (if you legally own arms, then your right was preserved). Conservatives say yes your right was infringed (you can't own anything you want so your right to own arms wasn't preserved).

That is a definition disagreement, not a complete ignoring of the amendment.
