Not sure if any of you still play around here, but I'm worried. I play a Dark Defender and it appears as though most of my main powers are getting hit HARD with the nerf bat. I really hope they dont turn it into another DAoC fiasco... My biggest two complaints: They're limiting ALL AoE powers so they only hit 15 enemies a shot and ALL pets will now only be allowed to spawn one at a time (turning Dark Servant basically worthless).

I'll probably be cancelling soon after the patch hits.

I have an earth/emp controller so I understand you problem. The majority of my holds are AoE, I can do 2x the dmg on held baddies. The problem w/ this is that I only have 2 moves (I'm able to choose) that does "real" dmg. I wasn't able to get my second dmg power until level 42(of 50).

I can still do my primary objective, hold people. I have to use more powers to do it.

It will sort itself out, everyone will adapt to the changes.

btw, I've pre-ordered cov already.

Enemies may chase players through elevators.

AAAAIIIIIIIIEEEEEEEEEEEEEE LOL

It looks like controllers and blasters got a serious boost this past patch. Check out "defiance" and controllers now do +100% damage on held enemies. Sure, no more fire imp army, but, come on, wtf did they expect?

Personally, I'd be most upset about the changes to Nova and Darkstar where toggles will now drop and the nerf to DD holds.

15 also seems low. Defender toggles are powerful, but they can also pull in tons of adds if you are using them right.

I know with the crazy debuffs Dark and Rad defenders get it seemed like they were overpowered since they can stand in the middle of 10 whites and barely be getting scratched, but damage output was never there so XPPM was actually one of the lower of the archetypes. Even Dark Servant, I understand, was mostly of value debuffing and healing and not putting out damage.

Still....new zone, two new powers, and increased XP at higher levels might be something interesting.

Not worried in the slightest bit. Beating down villians with a comic book superhero (or team of them) is fun, for me anyhow. Was able to do it before the patch, will be able to do it after the patch. If for some reason you're unable to, I'd check the CoH forums where there will be tons of Issue 5 build/strategy advice so that you can. There's some things people counted on from Issue 4 that simply won't work near as well now, but they handed out a free respec just for that.

Now with a patch this huge I'm sure there will be some things basically broken with it. If any of them land on any of my heroes heads, worst case would be either scale back what I take on, or play one of my alts while they work on a fix.
