Does that mean there is a further cost after buying he game or do you mean that once I buy the game, that's the only cost?

Go check out the Steam forums. This game apparently has some nasty bugs and is missing some important parts that were tied to the online portion of the game and since the dev went under those missing things are truly gone now.

I did read though that the publisher who bought up the IP is going to give 50% of the new Cities XL 2011 to people who own this current version.

Personally I'd say skip it after all I've read about it.

You just pay for it. It used to be an MMO style world game where you built your city amongst other players. The devs went under and the online portion has been shutdown. Its just a simcity ripoff now

It reviewed pretty poorly. But $5 isn't too bad if you need to satisfy your curiosity.

Meh, cities XL 2011 will be out in a month and from what ive read that sucks too, i would skip it tbh.

Single player lacked things like major transportation modes, I don't even think buses were an option as that's what they used to draw people into the MMO portion. As a single player it wasn't much different then City Life.

I'm basing that off of beta when I played it. It's prolly worth tinkering with for $5, but again it's just like City Life that Monte Cristo put out before they got gold in their eyes with Cities XL.

Found something on the forum for the guys doing the new version that anyone with a cdkey for the previous version will be able to buy the next one at 50% off.
