Cities Skylines

vanilla SC isn't that horrible for an even semi-modern PC. I was playing it fine on a Phenom x4 and a GTX 590 (and even less not long ago)

If you turn the eye candy up, and start installing mod after mod, it can get BRUTAL. But, if you google around (like the /r/cityskylines sub, some of the images of games are mindblowing gorgeous
