Anyone know where to find a download of this? I can't even find it on Cisco's website.

I've got a customer who needs a script (set up by someone else) modified, and I cannot for the life of me find this utility.

Also, before you ask, I do not have a valid SmartNet for a CUE of any kind, and they do not have a valid SmartNet for their NM-CUE.

If you browse out to the CUE admin page, isn't it download able via the plugins page? That's how Cisco does it for CCX and I think all of the versions of CUCM.

One would like it to be available via the web interface. Alas, it is not available from any page I can see within the web interface for CUE.

its on the Cisco download page...Voice and Unified Communications > Unified Communications Applications > Voice Mail and Unified Messaging > Cisco Unity Express > Cisco Unity Express Version 2.3.x. Should be the first file in the list.

Interestingly, it tells me that "there are no files for this type". Possibly because I don't have a valid smartnet for CUE. Why I should need a Smartnet for CUE to download the script editor is completely beyond me, though.

Odd, I wouldn't think you need SmartNet for that and if my CCO is associated with a contract that includes CUE I've forgotten which customer it's for. =)

However, I do see them so which 2.3.x version do you need?

Why? Buying something from Cisco that runs CUE entitles you to the editor and it's not like it's useful without the Cisco hardware. You just don't get support once your SmartNet runs out. And quite frankly, there's no one that would inflict the CUE AA or CCX script editor on themselves of their own volition.

I'm just here to express my intense dislike of CUE. Cheers :D

I've only had to work on a handful of UC5x0 boxes and they weren't that bad. Cisco either needs to stop pushing their Java GUI config tools or make the effort to actually make them work well, but if you know IOS the voice side isn't bad and the CUE web page isn't terrible either.

Yeah, I've had a lot of issues with their Java software (i.e. have NEVER gotten it to work, lol). I guess I should go get Cisco certified, but heavy networking isn't really my thing. I only manage one CUE system at work, and it's really run by an outside phone/networking company so I only do basic stuff like moving phones around. Our firmware is quite a few releases behind and the web GUI is pretty lame, lol. But, it IS stable. And as bad as IOS is, it's not as much of a bear as Asterisk :awe:

at least you don't have to be the dude on the asterisk forum saying they got hacked and get $200/month bills.

what other low cost choices are there that would bring stability equal to a UC5x0? preferably with support from a company that has a financially stable track record of maybe 1/2 cisco years?

Hey, Asterisk can be quite stable and quite secure when put together and maintained properly. I run lots of asterisk boxes in lots of different configs and never had a problem that wasn't caused by my own oversights (once killed all TN routes to all of my customers because I mistyped a SQL query in an Asterisk script, lol).

i've got a 20 year old nortel cics - five nine uptime - voicemail even - i can get support for it from a dozen places be there in 30 minutes -

other than cisco - who can give that track record for sip-trunking product that is cheaper?

Asterisk doesn't need to be used with SIP trunking. My larger customers certainly don't use SIP trunking.

Of course, all of my hosted PBX customers use SIP trunking because they're in the same cabinet as my voice switch (which is also asterisk-based), and we have had zero problems that were actually caused by Asterisk.

But, that's not what this thread's about. I still need to find a copy of the CUE Script Editor for CUE 2.3.
