Cisco UC500 -- Anyone using this or have any experience with it?

Never heard of it.

-edit-
quick look - it's part of the 500 line. Travel with caution - it's their attempt to target small business and could be cripled.

Or it could be great. Never messed with one.

Looks like a nice all in one solution.

It's not cheap but it's horribly expensive when compared to other phone systems.

If you are in the market for VPN and or a phone system it may very well be worthwhile to look at. I am supposed to get a demo of it on Wednesday.

Looks a lot like the Linksys One that never took off...may simply be re-badged from those same phones.

I've worked on numerous UC520s of all flavors. Its basically CME with an AIM-CUE in an all-in-one package. The box runs IOS, has a console and the same CLI as every other Cisco box. It is limited in terms of some features, such as no dynamic routing. No interworking with CUCM, and a few others.

If you need a phone system, you could check out Asterisk. I wouldn't recommend setting it up yourself, though.

Also, Linksys One is a semi-hosted solution that had like 3 providers throughout the entire US...that's why it failed. UC500 is entirely client-premises.

Well I am attending a demo of it tomorrow. Seems like a promising solution with a lot of features for a small office like mine.

Thanks for the input everyone.

Greg
