I have an elder Cisco 765 ISDN router, which works fine otherwise, but it seems to have US software inside; the US software only has support for the American switch types (5ESS and a couple of others), but as I am located in Europe, I would require switch type support for the NET3 standard (aka Euro-ISDN).
I thought updating the software would be done in a matter of minutes, but no: The Cisco website does not offer any software downloads for the public. I have been e-mailing the people at Cisco but they will not give support for free, I would have to purchase the update. The update cost used to be about $10 for the CD which included the various SW versions.
Now the ridiculous part is that they don't seem to have the normal update in the inventory anymore, they only offer the $150 1500-user Remote Office update, which I surely am not interested to purchase. In other words, Cisco seems to be of no help.
So here comes my humble request for help:
If you happen to have an old Cisco Feature pack CD-ROM for 700-series routers, including the SW image with NET3 support (file name something like c760-in.b-NET3.42-3.bin depending on the version), I would be enormously grateful for any help I could get from you, were it in the form of mailing the aforementioned file or even selling the CD to me.
I just hate it when companies try to make a business out of tech support. Since they don't sell the item I need anymore, why couldn't they give it for free in their website?
