Is this the same pinout as a Cisco switch or router? I'm trying to config a CSU/DSU and using a Cisco management cable and RJ45/DB9 adapter I get no response.

I've used the RJ-45-to-DB-9 Terminal Adapter with both a straight through CAT5 cable and the Cisco Rollover Cable and neither works. In both cases I was usin Hyperterminal set to 9600 8N1.

Do you think I need a null modem adapter?

Thanks.

did you hit return a few times? Are you sure your terminal program is on the right console port?

Yeah, I hit enter a few times and am sure it's on the right port. Just to make sure, I connected to the router that the CSU is connected to to verify my terminal setup was good and I had the right port.

If I remember correctly from last semester the Adtran CSU/DSU we used required a different RJ45 --> DB9 adapter than the Cisco equipment. Also, if you look at the pinouts for the DB9 end of the adapter the pinout for the Adtran equipment is different from the Cisco equipemnt.
