I am posting from a LRE (Long Reach Ethernet) connection right now in my office. It is some pretty cool stuff. 🙂 We just got the demo hardware from Cisco today. Granted this is only within my office but I was able to download a file off a server at 1325KB/s over statin phone wire. Now, for the real test, CAT1 wire to some old buildings on campus.

Edit: Has anyone else used the Cisco LRE hardware before? I have 2 585LRE CPEs that do not work. All of the status lights stay on after power-up. The 575LRE CPE works fine though.
