I have searched through product literature and google, and I haven't found a decent answer on this yet. Can you disable the switchport on the Cisco IP Phones (mainly the 7941's)? We are putting out some phones in common areas, and I don't want people hooking up to them with their computers. I will still be searching, but thanks in advance if anyone knows.

I haven't found any configuration that will do that, however, why don't you take some blank RJ45 male ends, crimp them (without a cable being in them) and put those in the spare jack on the phone? Also, if you put the phones on it's own VLAN, even if someone does hook a PC up to it, you can have the VLAN configured to either not give out an IP address or restrict the VLAN to just the phones themselves? Not sure if this will work for your environment, just a suggestion.

You disable the PC port on the phone. It's a setting for the station in call manager.

If you're running the SIP firmware and configuring the phone via TFTP, set the <pcPort> setting to 1 under the <vendorConfig> section.

I found it in CCM, but could only set this on a device by device basis. Is it not possible to set this at the device pool level?

BTW, our production system is a little behind with 4.1 CCM. Our 6.0 is almost ready to roll!
