Cisco Catalyst 1900 Series Switch Fan Problem

Hey guys,

I have a Cisco Catalyst 1900 series 10mbps switch that has a faulty fan. The fan will not spin at all and taking another 12v 3 pin fan and connecting it to the Cisco switch doesn't even work. The connector itself doesn't give any power.
If left on, the part of the switch case that has the power supply under it gets pretty warm. Not hot, but warm enough to cause me concerns. The switch works fine other than this.

Is there anyway that I can rig up some way to cool this switch?

Thanks,

If you already put a replacement fan on it then it's the connector on the board that's faulty.

Anyway to cool the switch? Leave the case open and use a regular fan to blow on it.
1900's are really old...time to upgrade to 2950's. (or 2900xl if you don't have enough budget)

Well see, I'd rather not upgrade. I got this switch for free (because of the fan issue of course). I have an Asante and Dell 24 port 10/100 switches so this Catalyst 1900 is not required for operation. I was just wondering if there was some way I could jump off of another 12v power source inside the switch and create a cooling solution.
