Hi all. Long time lurker.. first time poster.. not sure if there will be much interest in this deal, but I thought I'd post it anyways.
Vonage (http://www.vonage.com) is a service that allows you to make long distance calls through your broadband connection and also receive unlimited incoming calls (you get to choose the area code for the incoming calls). I recently signed up for a local number in Boston, and the quality is excellent and is comparable to cell phones.
For reviews of the Vonage service check out:
dslreports
The current promotion that they are running is that if a current Vonage users refers you to sign up for the service, you will get a $40 credit to be applied to subsequent bills, as does the user who referred you.
If you sign-up for the Vonage 500 outgoing minutes plan, for the first month you are charged $19.99 (monthly fee), $29.99 activation fee and $9.95 shipping. You get a CISCO ATA 186 (worth $160 US) for free. The next two months fee of $19.99 are covered by the $40 referral credit.
You can cancel after this, and you are basically getting the CISCO ATA 186 and 1500 minutes of long distance for under $60. You can then use the CISCO ATA 186 with one of the cheaper plans offered by (http://www.iconnecthere.com).
If you need any further information you can PM me.
