He won't run into any problems with spanning-tree and portfast?

He certainly will, as this switch has no way to perform loop detection. At least according to the datasheet on Cisco's website, anyway. This is a rebadged Linksys switch that has no knowledge of either of those things.

However, I believe he's operating in a single switch environment.
