I saw 'O' and 'Mystere' (twice) in Vegas - definitely well worth the money. They are part circus, part concert, part play, part art show, part acid trip. I can't really explain what they're about but they kick ass. I can't speak for the traveling shows other than say that part of what makes the Vegas shows sweet are their stages.

only seen O, was very good but at those prices it better have been.

they are essentially a trapeze, acrobatics, etc show, with excellent set and costume designs, and live music (for some productions)

i assume the show coming to town is Corteo?

Delirium is the name of the show coming to town next month. $110 for a good seat, $70 for average seat, and $40 for nosebleed.

Interesting the first time, but the same old stuff for every show. One of their shows is worth a see if you haven't been before.

Definitely worth watching.

Their permanent shows are a LOT better than their temporary roving shows, but they're all good.

The show I saw (forget the name) as good entertaining comedy, impressive showmanship, and amazing stunts.

i saw delirium when they came to san jose several months ago. i have never been to any of their other shows but my cousin had been to a few of their vegas shows and said this one is different but was still pretty awesome.

delirium doesn't just use a one sided stage as they are using arenas so there are actually people facing you on the opposite side of the arena watching as well. so in this case they use a much wider stage so i would actually recommend saving your money and getting the nosebleeds.

my cousin won a drawing to get our tickets for free so we actually got to go a little earlier and watch them practice. watching the practice, we sat like row 3 and it was hard to see everything all at once since we had to constantly pan our heads. once the actual show started, we had seats higher up and it was much better. i would save the $30 and use that toward something else. if you're making a date out of this, then you can have a nicer dinner :)

I saw Corteo in San Jose. Pretty cool stuff but I'd rather see the Cirque shows in Vegas.

I saw the new Beetles show and it was a lot better than I expected it would be. It had the highest sound quality of Beetles music that I've ever heard. Music aside, it was a great show and I'll echo the other remarks about getting the nosebleed seats. A lot of the acts are high off the stage, so nosebleed seats will get you a nicer view of everything.

Delirium was a pretty good show. It truly is better than watching the videos. You have to watch out for other variants, though. I forget the name of the other Cirque show that we saw, but it was just like an international concert with people jumping around. It wasn't as colorful as Delirium.

I have been to Mystère and Corteo. Mystère was definitely the best show I've seen and would readily see it again. I have heard that 'O' is good, if you can afford it.

I saw delirium when they came through louisville and enjoyed it. Some nice music, and a lot aerobatics. It should keep you entertained. My parents took the family, they saw I think "O" while they were in Vegas. They liked the Vegas show better, but said this one was good but different.

I had front row seats to La Nouba at Disney. I had no idea people could do those kinds of tricks with BMX bikes!!!! It was an amazing show... I plan to go again next year so that my two younger children can see it.

I caught Alegria under the big top in ATL a few years back and now am hooked on all things Cirque. Bravo or A&E have their shows on practically every weekend. Amazing stunts and feats of strength and dexterity that are practically beyond belief.Definitely worth the scratch if yo can afford it!

My first Cirque show was Saltimbanco back around 1990 or so in San Jose. I've seen quite a few since then but the first had the greatest impact. If you haven't seen one, do it - definately worth it.

EDIT: Hmmm, thinking about it... maybe it was Summer 1992. Yeah.

I save Mystere in Vegas last year ... definitely worth the cash paid, about $65/ticket for 10th row or so.

Absolutely phenomenal athletes choreographed brilliantly.

edit: name spelled wrong

Svnla:

First off I haven't seen Delirium so I'm judging by what I've seen on TV as well their web site's video previews. I've been to numerous Cirque shows, both in Vegas as well as touring shows in Chicago. They have ALL been incredible experiences that, for me, have been well-worth the high ticket prices.

With that said, Delirium does not look like a typical Cirque du Soleil show; it's billed as a "Live Musical Concert" so the primary focus will be on the music, with coordinating dance and visuals as well. My experience with their "standard" shows has been that the focus was on acrobatics/tumbling, trapeze and feats of extreme strength and flexibility that you would not see elsewhere. The staging was also unbelievable. The accompanying music has always been great as well, so I think they have pulled that element out and made a new show with music as the leading character. I expect Delirium will be lacking the "wow" factor of elaborate staging, extreme human performances, and an underlying theme/story that serves as the glue to mold all of the different scenes together.

I've never seen a bad Cirque show. For me personally, however, I'm taking a pass on Delirium and saving my money for Vegas or another future tour.
