It's coming to my area next month and I would like to take my girlfriend, but for $85 per ticket, is it worth it? I heard from a friend who saw it in Vegas, and she loved it. The people who run this thing are banking in on us New Yorkers. We have to pay $85, but other cities like Chicago and Miami only have to pay $60. :disgust:
Anyway, has anyone seen this show?

Do you think the view really matters for this show? The place is shaped like a horseshoe, and it looks like the good tickets are all sold out. When I goto Broadway shows, I'm really picky to get center front rows in the Mezzanine. I doubt all the action in this circus is aimed at the front audience area.

I know it's no comparison, but if you decide not to go definitely get the video. I got it for a gift and it was cool-- especially if you have a decent size screen.

Ya, Cirque du O-gay :) Seriously though, my uncle works in the theater department of a big college and saw the show. He said it was really cool, $85 is a lot of mulla though.

I heard that there is hardly a bad seat in the house. The only bad seats are the ones with one of the 4 poles in the way. I just bought the tickets, second to last row on the diagonal section. $165 for a pair. Tickets must have sold really quick for me to get stuck with those seats, but if what I hear is true, I should be fine with those seats.

i saw the show without having any idea what it was. My dad took our family and this is one of the reasons i love my dad...he makes sure us kids get to have many worthwhile life experiences...I'm very lucky for that. Cirque du Soleil was a really well put together circus act with a modern edge when I went. It is definitely worth the money as you won't see anything like it...it's worth more than many playoff tickets for sporting events, and better than alot of broadway. I regard it so highly because it is unique.

get the good seats, trust me. I've been a few times.

The tent is quite big, and you're gf will really dig it if you pimp her in the best seats. Some folks are really dressed up, night gowns and suits when going! Its an awesome show, my favourite is Allegria, which plays permanently in biloxi. Each of their shows are totally different, which completely different themese. La nouba was good too

I went to the Quidam in NYC a couple years ago. It was so good, I rollerbladed back down to battery park city a week later just to sit outside and listen to the music. The one thing I would tell anyone who hasn't seen it is to get the conventional image of a circus (clowns, animals, etc...) out of your head, cuz that's not what cirque du soleil is about.

Like someone said, every seat in the house is pretty good. Just make sure the view isn't blocked. I jumped on dralion (the cirque du soleil show coming this spring) as soon as the tickets went on sale and managed to get front row center of the second section back. Great seats, I'm so excited.

doofy, don't forget that Dralion is in NJ this year, and not NYC. I don't know why, but they moved the show to the liberty state park which is across the holland tunnel in jersey city. On top of that they jacked the prices up like crazy...which makes no sense to me.

Go to the show. I'm sure it'll be worth the money.

Well they're from my home town of Montreal. I have heard nothing but good things about the shows. We're lucky here because they usually start all the new show right in town. One day I'm going to have to go and see them.

I've heard that they are working on a new show that has horses in it.

I saw this show called O in Las Vegas by Cirque du Soleil. I found it extremely boring. The girl I was with loved it though, she must have caught some pivotal thing I missed.

I can't believe you didn't like "O"!

That was an incredible show! I had front row seats. The stuff they did was amazing.

You must have been comatose or something ;) .

I'm going to see Dralion in NY in April.

Front row? Isn't that way too close? Could you see everythibg happening? The only show I know of that's worth the front row is a Blue Man Group show.
I'm so pumped to see Dralion next month. I bet the guys running the show make more cash in one night than those corny NY/NJ Hitmen.
