I hate clowns in general -- really. They're not funny, they dress weird, and all they do is annoy the crap of of ya'.

I saw IT when I was 6 and Poltergeist (where the stuffed clown comes to life and drags the girl under the bed) soon after, and between those two movies, it ruined the joy of Clowns up until I was about 14 when I realized how silly it was. But I was honestly scared to death of them for those 8 years.

To me, clowns aren't funny. In fact, they're kinda scary. I've wondered where this started and I think it goes back to the time I went to the circus and a clown killed my dad.

I have clown phobia too. Its not because of any scary movies. I think it is rooted in some deeper issues of distrust. I always found it extremely creepy and disturbing that someone would paint a smile on their face. Are they trying to hide something more sinister? Its hard to explain but sincew i was little i have been afraid of clowns.

Well perhaps afraid isnt the right word. creep is more accurate.
