If not, and they did it anyway, why not sue?

It's not done for medical reasons

It's done because parents request it or for religious reasons.
The time, I think, has finally come to hang all the lawyers. :|

yeah, so if parents have the right to have pieces of their kids bodies removed for no reason other than it's the "norm", they can do ahead and cut off one nut out of two, right? after all, it serves no purpose other than to "back up" the other one!

i fully support this guy and his lawsuit

you should have one of your nuts removed

Circumcision or other body mutilations should not be performed until the child is of age to make the decision for himself.
If it were standard practice to cut off the left thumb of every baby, you'd probably roll your eyes at anyone who wanted to sue about that too.

do it the jewish way if u must:) tis the manly way to mutilate:)

is not mutilitation

unless you consider getting your ears pierced mutilitation too

If you feel this way then work towards a law banning the practice. The idea that a doctor who performs a legal surgery at the request of the newborns parents can be sued for it 18 years later is absurd.

Wrong, it is done for clealiness issues in most cases, how can you expect a little kid to make sure he cleans in there well? Next you will have people suing because their d*ck fell off after they got gangreen from a bacterial infection since they weren't circumcised, what a bunch of whiny b*tches we have become.

[WilliamWallace]"Aye, fight and you may die......run and you'll live.

At least a while.

And dying in your beds many years from now, would you be willing to trade all the days from this day to that for one chance, just one chance to come back here and tell our enemies that they may take our lives, but they'll never take OUR FORESKIIIIIIIIINNNNNNNNSSSSSSS!!!!!!!!!?!" So it's logical to you to sue the person that perfomed the procedure rather than sueing the people that asked that it be done and were responsible for your care? Would you prefer that your parents did it themselves with a sharp rock?

You don't shoot the messenger and you don't blame your doctor for doing what he was asked to do by YOUR gaurdians. The concept is rediculous, if he's suing anyone it should be his own parents.

If my dr was till alive i would pay him for the fine job he did in cutting me. cutting might not serve any purpose other than religious beliefs, but IMHO it sure does look better.

Of course it is, just look at this thread as an example - everyone whining and bitching at one another, nobody having a valid argument.

If you're circumsized, you can't imagine what it's like not to be circumsized. If you're not circumsized, you can't imagine what it's like to be circumsized. So please, people, stop saying "I'd hate if I were (whichever one)...", cause that's complete bullcrap since you have no idea what it's like unless you've experienced the feeling yourself. Sheesh. I can't believe nobody has pointed this out or realized this.

Getting pissed over which happened to you is also rather silly. It was chosen for you during a time you were incapable of making your own decisions. At some points in your life you need to rely on others (more specifically the ones who brought you into this world) and trust their judgement, decision. There isn't any reason to suddenly become unhappy about it, since it's been like that your whole life. It's just immature, silly to get all heated up about it. And no, chicks don't dig one or the other - there are women who have a preference (varying from both) and also some who simply don't care. You can't use that as an argument.

Also, what exactly is so incredibly unsanitary about lack of circumsision? What about before people did this at all? You think everyone had their dicks falling off? I don't think so. You don't have to take any sort of ultra-special care to make sure you don't get all diseased. It's there by default (the skin), it's natural, and it's not going to get infected or fall off. Sheesh.

Anyway, I stand by all my earlier points - you simply can't imagine the other. Why not just be happy with yourself the way you are? What the fsck is so complicated about that? lol.

if i were the judge i would have laughed at the guy then told him to get the hell out of my courthouse.

One of my friends had it done when he was 15. Said it was horribly painful and he couldn't f@p for weeks. But. now that it is over, he also said that it was worth the pain, and wonders why his parents didnt have it done earlier.

Piss on this guy for suing the doc instead of his parents.

Weeping 'drippy dick' was the standard order of the day, just as lice were your common 'friend', your teeth weren't all that nice by the time you were 20 and your breath was horrendous, by today's standards. Not that they could help it, but that's the answer to your question. Don't provide answers for questions to which you're only wildly speculating.
From what I understand the proceedure is very painful for an adult to go through. It is not so much the cutting but the healing afterwards that is excruciating. Just think that everytime Mr Happy gets excited while you are sleeping you get to peg out your personal pain meter.
Sure its painful, so is having hemorrhoids excised and removed, but for many people its necessary. I didn't like the idea of having my wisdom teeth removed, and I was right it hurt like hell, but now that its over I'm glad I did it.

You cannot ask someone several hours or days after surgery, before they're finished healing, if the surgery was worth it or not. That's an irrational standard because NOBODY thinks it was worth it until the pain is gone and they can see the benefits of this procedure.

But you do have a good point, in that circumcision for an adult is far more painful than it is for a child and there are more complications. Similarly, children are running around and jumping on the bed three days after a tonsillectomy while a tonsillectomy can put an adult out of commission for up to two weeks.

I think most of what I said is still good. Honestly, how can you make an assessment of something you haven't experienced?

Well I sort of touched upon a similar point earlier.

Actually, the "turtleneck" has blood vessels in it that keep the temperature at or below body temperature. Which is useful in 110 degree Vegas weather :)
I am kinda neutral on the procedure. I wasn't cut, but if I was, I probably wouldn't care if it was done at birth. I definitely wouldn't do it now tho. I guess if I lived in some backwards country with no showers, I might do it, but if you keep it clean it's no problem and has it's advantages :)

Increased sensitivity and no callous on your dick definitely sounds like the way to go :)
