Yes, but first shipment stock is quickly running out for those who care. Also it was next to impossible to order just the basic system during the pre~orders. Everyone wanted to gouge ya with the bundles.

Watch out for dead pixels, make sure you can return it. I thought i'd be safe, I got 4 pixels dead - gonna return. I'm not real happy with it, none of the games can be considered killer apps, and you'll have to spend another $100 for a decent amount of storage

Dude remember what else is on the market as far as portable gaming units, then maybe you will recind your comment about the games. This thing is BADASS, granted it costs a ton of money, give it until after christmas this year if you can wait that long and I'm sure the price will be well below what it is now.

That's hilarious. It's hot that it's in stock at all. And free shipping? even better.

I see the PSP in stock everywhere. BestBuy, Target, Walmart, Toys r us. No shortage at all from what I see here in Phoenix, AZ.

LOL, "quickly running out", eh? Every Wal Mart, Target and Best buy in my area has *plenty*. At Wal Mart the clerk told me people were balking at the price (and at $300 plus tax to get out the door with the system and ONE game, I don't blame them!). Personally I went through THREE on Friday/Saturday, all of which had bad pixels, so I finally gave up and said to hell with it. I'll wait til this POS gets the bugs worked out and the price dropped by about $100.

Actually, and I am surprised to be saying this, even Mario on the DS is better than most of the games available for the PSP, and at $20 less than ANY PSP game.

I *wanted* this to be a killer machine, and maybe it WILL be, but for now it's not worth the money at all.

I've also heard that the PSP was going to sell out on release, but I found it in stock, hardware-only bundle at Best Buy the other day. I think it's either out of stock in certain regions, or Sony decided to be clever and try to trick people into thinking that they've GOT to buy it if they see it.

At any rate, I'm not sure if I'd buy the PSP online, regardless of the sales tax savings, what with the notorious dead pixels and all. I'd rather buy it in-store with the comfort of knowing I can drive it back same day if it's defunct and get a new one, or money back.

Same here, every major B&M (Walmart, Target, CC, BB) had atleast 10-15 in stock on Saturday, well after the release.

Yeah good luck driving back to Best Buy and getting your money back or a replacement same day.....lol Unless you paid for that god awful expensive warranty they offer and even then they tell you that they have to send it back to sony and youshould get a new one in about 2 weeks........yeah Best Buy is for me to poop on.

Agreed, save some cash and buy the DS instead, IMO I don't think this is going to be the killer got to have it handheld that Sony hopes for. Sony may be the king of consoles with the PS2 but they just aren't going to overtake Nintendo on handhelds, this is just too much money for a machine that tries to do too much with too little, such as: movies on UMD Sony titles only, proprietary storage that don't allow you to put your own movies on, poor battery life, too little storage per $$ for music and too few quality launch titles, all these negatives will either kill this thing quickly or cause Sony to drop the price drastically and soon.

Also from what I have seen here in Huntsville AL, these things are everywhere in spite of the Sony publicity hype that they are hard to get, I would hate to have been one those that paid much more than retail on EBay before they released just to make sure they got one at launch.

Um BBY has a 30 day (or 14 day on some items) return policy if you've got a reciept. As long as you bring back everything and it hasent been abused. Doesnt even have to be defective. Exceptions are notebooks and digital camera/camcorders which are 14days and 15% restocking fee if not defective.
