I just found these 2 crowdfunding projects that look really cool, especially when combined. This is like teaching electronics meets crafting. Vaguely reminds me of the "electronic project kits" I had as a kid, but more flexible/crafty. I plan to try to use them to teach my daughter some basic electronics while having fun at the same time.

They aren't shipping until the May/June timeframe if you order, so sadly they cannot be used as Christmas gifts (not this year anyway).

Best thing about these, is after you are done, you can really put these on the fridge as "good job" and "art meets application".
 
Just bumping to say that Circuit Stickers are about to ship and they are still available for order if anyone wants them. By a lucky coincidence, I will be in SanFran during the Maker Faire next month, so I may get to meet the Chibitronics folks.
