It has to be one of the worst online ordering systems I've ever seen. I was looking at the slickdeals offer on paper this morning. A lot of the items are only available for in-store pickup. You can select certain locations, but then it tells you after clicking next that the stores are out of stock.... If you refresh the previous page, they still list the items as being in-stock again.

I've had this problem before and have yet to place an order with them because of it. You'd think they'd smarten up and fix their site.

I didn't need to spend the money anyhow...it just makes me sick that we've been doing the Internet shopping thing for 14 years and they still don't have it together. Someone should get sacked. :D

Not as bad as radio shacks. I was looking for a TV antenna and it said EVERY store in 20miles had at leats 1. Well after driving to 2 and calling a third one none of them had any.

Well....I would expect their inventory systems to be a little better. Especially since they have to report inventory at the end of the year for tax purposes. I'm guessing there's a lot of incorrect reporting based on their website.

I'll tell you something else about CC's stupid website: Their "back in stock" notification is just as bad. This past summer, I was trying to buy a TV from them...it kept showing "out of stock". So I signed up for email notification. The email comes a little after 1am. I happened to be on the computer at that time and checked my email.....so I went straight to the CC site and guess what: It was still out of stock. Re-signed up for email notification, same thing....after 1am get an email saying the TV is back in stock.

Called CC and they said basically "these TV's are going fast so you have to be quick or they sell out". So I tried once more and I sat there waiting for the email...I had it timed to almost the minute.
Tried to order, and yep...out of stock.

Why? IMO, because there was a sale on that TV and they really didn't want to sell them at that price. I found a similar problem with Sears on the same TV....they'd have a sale, but the TV wasn't available....yet BB had them in stock but a few hundred dollars more. If there was THAT much demand, you couldn't find them at any price.

I don't get it. The items are in stock, just not at the stores you want to pick them up at. So what's the problem?

Wait... so the item is in stock, but when you select the stores *you* want to go to the item isn't in stock? Did you ever think that the item you want isn't in stock in those specific stores, but is in stock "company wide"?

Um, while there might be some incorrect reporting, I have a strong feeling they don't reconcile their inventory exactly to what their website says.

Yeah, CC recently switched over to a new point of sales system designed and built by IBM which is a complete piece of crap. It has some crazy bugs. For instance, it likes to add stuff to inventory for no reason. Because the webset gets it's information from this system, it thinks the store has items in stock when there isn't any.

And it gets even better yet... They switched the floor model around a bit.. instead of the sales associates doing the inventory counts, a new postion called the 'product flow team' is now in charge of doing inventory counts. This postion consists of basically warehouse guys.. people who don't know the difference between a wireless g usb adapter and a usb flash drive.....
