Ok, so yeah

this thread

I went to my local CC, tried to get it... They tell me its a web deal only. WTF... So I go home... Check the rebates... Oh wow... it also applies to Circuit City stores. I should read the fine print more.

So after this, I call Circuit City customer support for their bsing input. Now on the site, there are 2 rebates, a $50 and a $40.

The dude says this.

"Those two rebates aren't updated. See they expired. Circuit City really has a $90 CC MIR that you have to send. The one that goes to the manufacturer isn't updated. Yes this is a web deal only too sir."

So overall. things you should not say and things you should do.

-Price match AFTER YOU BUY THE ITEM.
-Do not mention anything about the rebates.
-Never be a n00b like me and trust the employees that get paid to bs to their customers.
-You got 30 days for a price match, ship rebates first and aim for the price match.

This is Hot Deals 101 common sense

1) Buy item like you normally would, DO NOT mention PM.
2) Go back to your car and leave the item(s) and rebates there.
3) Walk back into CC, head to customer service with your receipt and competitors receipt or ad and request a PM.
4) You have failed, no profit for you.

This Pelican HD was a web only special yesterday. (normal price was 24.99 and was on sale for $16.87).

Paid for it on the web and did an instore pickup yesterday. Accidentally left the credit card I used to buy it home when I went to pick it up (you need to have the card used to make the purchase when you pick it up).

The customer service dude just cancelled the transaction and rang it up at the Web price without me even having to ask and I just used another credit card...

I left the store as a happy camper...

One question then.
How do you get them to price match when its a web deal only.

I only PM against B&M competitors and not online.

I know we have a few AT'ers that are CC employees, perhaps they can offer their two cents.
