Yes, I would also like to know why it was locked. My penalty for having the initial posting be asking if anyone had the ad instead of posting it?

is it just me or are circuit city's friday sale really lame compared to best buy? best buy is offering a 60gig drive for $50 after rebates whereas CC is only offering 20gig. best buy has 256meg ram for $9.99 after rebates, circuit city has 128meg for $9.99 after rebates, BB has geforce3 for $99 after rebates, circuit city has geforce2 for $99....

actually, it looks like most of their sales items are old stuff they want to get rid of. and some of their sale items are "on sale" at their normal everyday price :disgust:

i'm not crapping on this thread; in fact, THANK YOU for posting the info. i'm just REALLY disappointed in Circuit City :(

Some of this stuff sounds pretty good, but I have absolutely horrible luck finding sale stuff at CC, esp free after rebate stuff-even if I arrive two minutes after store opens. Usually when I buy CC stuff now I order in on-line for in store pickup. Any idea if that can be done with these specials?

I'd love to pick up another USB hub, they are very handy.

the one thing that caught my eye was the belking USB hub. other than that, there wasn't much at CC I was interested in .

Thanks for the post though. my disapointment has nothing to do with the post or poster.

Just order now, pick up Friday. You get the lower price and in theory they have one put away for you (yes I know they are bad about pulling orders at some stores, including mine).

Thanks,

Great Post. And thanks for the model #s, those are KEY! Yours had a lot more item numbers than any other Black Friday post I've seen.

However, the one item I want, the Apex $69.99 DVD Player....do you have any inkling of that model # Pleez?

I have a $50 CC gift card, and if that's a good model, I would like to get it. I just bought the Kmart Apex DVD player (the AV-3201) hoping that that is the model that will be $69.99 on Friday. (At which time I'll bring my receipt back in for the adjustment) The only Apex on CC's website that looks to be in this range is the AV-1500, which I don't care for. I don't want to go all over town buying up every Apex DVD player in the hopes I find "the one".

The

Apex 3-Disc DVD/CD/MP3 Carousel AD5131 $149.99

is not that hot a deal, unfortunately, it's only $10 off the normal price. They should have made this one $99, that would be HOT.

Yeah, CC's computer components are always higher priced than BB's....everyone knows that. But there are other items that CC is offering at the same or better prices than BB this year. Just not in the comptuer dept. What I'm getting at CC includes:

$69 Dreamcast sports bundle (better than the BB deal IMO)
$4.99 computer speakers (Staples is the only other place doing a computer speakers deal, same price, only 2 piece setup, while CC's is 2+subwoofer - this is for the inlaws).
20 Free AA batteries after rebate (didn't see BB with a similar battery deal)

In fact, is BB doing any free after rebate deals this year? I know CC has 7 freebies this year.

So even if there was a BB in my area (there's not...can you believe there isn't one in Salt Lake?), the only thing that I've seen there is that Hard Drive, which is a great price, but I've got a 30GB 7200 RPM in my rig already. 5400 makes me cringe.

Why I cannot find the Mail-in-rebate from for Belkin 4-port USB HUB. What is the difference between USB hub and ordinary hub?

Can it be recognized by linux?

Thanks

You cannot find the rebate for it (or probably anything else in the ad) because the sale has not started yet!!!

<< wondering if the "7-noon" sale is taking place ON thanksgiving? >>

Sigh.. please read the title of this thread. See, it says "Friday" and "11/23". That would be the day AFTER Thanksgiving. KMart is the only store that I am aware of that's open on Thanksgiving and offering big sales. [My wife used to work for HomePlace before they closed her store, and they were open on Thanksgiving but that made some sense since there were people who found out that they needed stuff for their entertaining and that way they were able to get it, the same as supermarkets are open).]

Ramius: I've got the Polk RM6000 speaker set and they sound great. I paid a little less for it but didn't get the receiver deal. I would recommend trying to put the value of that receiver towards another one. I've got the Onkyo 565 and it compliments the speakers well. I can't remember what it cost but I don't think you'd have to pay too much more. :)
