COol I just saw the comercial for this earlier. I'm gonna check it out tomorrow.

Hmmm, i wonder if CC still carries SACD's 😀 (though, even if they did, i doubt they would be on sale)

Yeah, I work there. $9.99 for just about every CD (not counting the ones that have bonus CDs and crap in them).

Enjoy guys, it's over soon.

Wow, is that considered a "sale" these days? I had no idea music CD prices had gotten so high. 🙁
I used to play $6-10 for CDs, back in the day, but usually around $7-8. Crazy kids these days... with their crazy-high music CD prices... wow I feel old. :| No wonder "mp3" is a household word.

My local CC has about 1/3 the selection of the local BB, so I took the add to BB, picked out 3 CDs and the cashier PMed no problem!

The ad for this in my newspaper says regular $10.00-$13.99, which doesn't seem to have applied to some of you. Also says "Excludes SACD& DVD audio. Limit 3 per title per customer. While supplies last." Thanks OP!

I think your confused with LP's....

Sorry, just showing my age.

Have a Merry Christmas!

I would buy some of the new SACD releases of old Rolling Stone albums for $10.00. Anyone know if these are available.

Joe M.

The line in CC was terrible today in Roseville, MN store. They had no idea what they were doing. I wouldn't deal with their BS service to save a couple bucks on a few CDs.

damn damn damn, I was waiting for this sale and I missed it... arghhhhhh!!!!!!!

Missed it? It ain't over yet, there is still tomorrow...

Is there something I'm missing? The OP said "sale ends tomorrow Thursday Dec24,2004", but he probably made a mistake because Dec24 is friday, and my local ad (now that I pulled it off circuitcity website) says wednesday and thursday only. Tonight is thursday, so unless I missed something the deal is over. I tried to order online, but when I add items to cart they are regularly priced. 🙁

Yeah, my local CC in Tupelo, MS usually has this same deal several times a year. This past year they had it during the Memorial Day weekend as well as on Black Friday. Not bad and they usually have a decent selection.

After this experience I'm never shopping at Circuit City again. I didn't know about this sale until I saw the sign in the store. It read: ALL CDs $9.99, then in small print it read 3 per customer, and not all CDs are available in all stores. It never said anything about price restrictions or anything like that. So I get a new CD that's $16.99, take it to the register and it rings up for $16.99, I asked what was going on and they said it was only on CDs that were $9.99 - $15.99, this was never written anywhere, or at least not on the big signs everywhere.

Not only that but the store was a mess, they had NO SELECTION...they pretty much never do. Every time I see that they have a descent price on a DVD that I want I go into the store and they are ALWAYS out. This last time it was for Simpsons Season 5 and Napolean Dynamite. I went in on Tuesday afternoon, the same day it came out. Go to the shelf, gone. Ask the CSR, nope..no more in stock. What about a raincheck....no rainchecks on DVDs. Then when I went in tonight to another location Simpsons was $39.99 instead of $35.99 at the other store. The only reason I tried to find it somewhere else was because I have a gift card. I absolutely HATE circuit city. After leaving the store my wife and I vowed never to shop there again.

What are these - "LPs" - of which you speak?

BTW, I received an email about the CD sale. Ended 12/23 for me, but the same email has a coupon for 20% all video game software. WTF is video game software?

Used CD joints rule.
No they don't, IMO. They used to. All the used CD stores I've been to in the past couple years have raised their prices and now many times charge way too much for a used CD. Many used CD's at the stores I've been to are $8 and $9 now.

And I'm not sure where VirtualLarry was getting new CD's for $6e, but new CD prices have actually fallen over the past 10 years. They used to all be $15-$18e, now they're usually around $12-$14. You can get many brand new CD's for $9.99 for the first week they come out. Some of the lower price has to do with the price fixing lawsuit(s) not too long ago; Also the fact that the technology is getting old. And of course the MP3 craze.

So while new CD prices have fallen, used CD prices have risen and are even closer to the price of a new CD. I used to go to used CD stores all the time but rarely do anymore.

Oh, and LP means a Long Playing (full length) album, though generally people use it to mean a vinyl record. Just as EP means Extended Play. Some mistakenly use the word 'album' to just mean vinyl.
