likely something like motrin. coffee ground emesis just means an upper gi bleed.

I just thought Cipro was used for some extreme cases - when regular anti-biotics would not work. I guess your doc thought the Cipro was the only thing that would work.
I dunno. I'm allergic to penacillin, so this might have been the only alternative.

I never heard of Cipro until the whole Antrax crap went down. I'm also alergic to penacillin, and there were other options. I'm not arguing your use of it or your doctor's choosing it for you, I've just had a few other alternatives to penacillin. So they exist, but if your doctor chose Cipro there's likely a good reason for it.

Damn! That would scare the crap out of me

I'm currently taking Cipro XR (1000MG once/day). This is the worst drug I've ever taken. It makes me feel sick and nauseated for hours. Does anyone have any ideas how to counter this feeling? Or am I doomed to feel like sh1t for another month....

minocycline myself. its a long ass cycle a whole month.

75mg Diphenhydramine + 4 mg Loperamide + 20mg hydrocodone bitrate + grapefruit juice for now.

i know i know....

I had to take a one time dose of Cipro due to exposure to bacterial meningitis. No problems with it for me. Most likely it's what you are taking it for that is causing your exhaustion, as some said already.

peace

Ciprofloxacin increases the toxicity of caffeine, so if you drink alot of caffeine...don't. For gram positive (the most common bacteria) cellulitis, most GPs I know just give Cephalexin. Though it's not pencillin, it's action is the same. I guess your doctor just wanted to try a broad spectrum antibiotic to be safe...

I had to take cipro a while back for some mystery illness ("Have you been out of the country recently?") and I don't recall the side effects, which means they must not have been too bad. It did its job, though.
