Cingular Sucks!

See, I was just talking with my GF and she was on her "cingular network", and she breaks up again. This happens almost every time she calls. The service sucks so bad here, nothing but constant breakups - it doesn't even work in front of my house, but everywhere else gets at least some network.

POS cellphone service. Raise the Bar my ass. It actually got worse, once that compain took off.

PS: They also refused to pay me 100 bucks that they overcharged me for over 1 year, even after consistantly showing them proof.

Where do you live? I had terrible reception until just recently when I got a new phone, it's not perfect now but I can talk on the phone without dropping calls literally every 5 seconds like I did before.

I'm at podunk Alabama now. I can make calls from Northern VA, MA, and CA to AL without any issues. I never had a call drop while driving around or in a hotel. One time when I was home, both of our phones could not make outbound calls for about half an hour. Very strange.

So...

she have an old tdma phone? after the cingular/at&t merger my tdma phone's reception dissapeared.

If her contract has already been fulfilled, she should look into a new one with a new phone (and hopefully with a stronger antenna)

i got cingular and get great reception in upstate NY (where i go to school school) and the north shore in MA (where my home is). i have a sony ericson t637 and have never had a dropped call. before that, i had cingular with an old nokia, same great reception and no dropped calls.

however, my mom, also on cingular, has some kind of small samsung flip phone. she has good reception, but gets lots of dropped calls.

conclusion: cingular reception/coverage = good, cingular phones = mixed bag

Idk, it's a Sony Ericsson T616 - phone sucks as well, buttons fail sometimes.
