Just noticed that the backlight on my keypad for my Razr wasn't working (phone is about 2 months old and has been pretty much babied since day 1)...

I called 800-801-1101 and they verified my account info etc...so they are shipping me a brand new razr which will be here next Tuesday and I have 14 days to return the 'broken' one in their pre-paid package...

If you are having issues with your phone (still has to be under warranty though), give this number a call and see what they can do for you...

According to the brochure thing I got at the Cingular store, you should also be able to access this on www.cingular.com/myaccount

What qualifies as under warranty? My V505 is 6 months old and drops calls like a champ in my house while my bro (same model) has no problems using it. Do you think they can help?

Call them and tell them that, regardless of signal strength, it chronically drops calls, and you may get a replacement.

If you got it from them, of course they can. If not, contact the manufacturer.

I bought it from Amazon.com. Does that nullify Cingular's committment?

I was getting ready to do that warranty crap of sending in the phone etc...

I realize that every now and then, sh!t happens and that stuff with microchips and TFT screens are fragile, but as long as they make the situation right, everything is cool...

I have more than my share of electronic toys/gadgets/gizmos and so far have had pretty good luck (knock on wood)...

Yes because you got it from a reseller. You can still go to Motorola though. It would only cost you shipping.
