Cingular renewal

I live in Austin, TX, and my one year contract on my $29.99 plan with Cingular expired back in December 2003. I called today to see what kind of perks they would give me in order to sign another one year contract. The best I could get out of them was: 2 months free with one year renewal OR $150 off the Samsung S307 which they will sell to me for $300. They said they could offer more if I resigned for 2 years, but I do not want to be locked down for that long.

I currently have a Motorola V60 and am perfectly fine with it, but the new Samsung phone DOES look cool. I was wondering if this was a decent offer from Cingular in order to get me to renew my contract. I've also heard they will buy back my V60 and give me credit, so if that is true, I may just upgrade to the Samsung S307. If there is not buy back of old cell phones, I will probably just take the 2 months free.

So my questions are:

1) Is it true that Cingular will buy back old phones? And do they offer reasonable prices for them?
2) Has any one else resigned with Cingular? If so, what kind of perks did you get?

Thanks for the input.
