Cingular down in Louisville - perhaps the whole state of KY

No word on what's wrong...can't make any outgoing calls, no incoming calls, no text messaging.

Bummer.

HAHA. Uh, I mean total bummer man.

That's actually very strange that Cingular would be down at all. They're almost as dependable as Nextel and I've never seen a statewide outage once with Nextel. They've lost a tower or two from time to time, but never a whole city or state.

If it is an outage I'm sure their call center phone switch is probubly about ready to blow up right now with all the calls reporting it.

Ayup...the tech support rep I spoke to (cute voice, btw) said all of the calls on hold (50 or so) and all of the ones she'd taken so far were from Louisville.

Ouch, that's gonna be a shot in the gut for Cingular. That's the first time I've ever heard of their network down like that.

Guess they finally figured out the problem....was down for several hours

Yeah, it was probubly one of those "Hey, what does this button do?" (pushes button, phones come back up) "Oh, that must be the magic red button reset switch."
