Hey all.
I just tried overclocking my fairly new 4770k. All I did from the bios was increase the "BCLK" (asus maximus hero bios) to 107.7 which gave set me at 4200mhz.

My CPU score went up from 8.3 to 9.18pts. However, the system read out in cinebench only shows my processor at 3.77ghz. Is that because I only hit 4200mhz in turbo mode? Guess it may be a general OC question, wondering if I didn't overclock right :|

When I run prime95 , cpu-z shows me at 4200 anyway

4-core loaded speed is 3.5Ghz max stock, which is a multiplier of 35, so 35 x 107.7 = 3769.5 which is 3.77Ghz.

if I'm not mistaken this CPU with turbo and no other changes should run at 3.7GHz under 4c load, 3.5GHz would be the clock with turbo off, if it's running at 3.77 (35x multi) turbo is not enabled!?

Cinebench doesn't show the real CPU speed anyway, I would just ignore it.

I'm not sure about Haswell but on Ivy most boards have an enhanced mode where it will run all cores at the max turbo speed (instead of just one or two cores), if thats also true for haswell then youd get all cores at 4200 too, 107.7 x 39 = 4200.3
