There are plenty of perfectly good cigars in the $5-$10 range. Anything more than that and it's probably because you're ponying up for a cuban

.
Savinelli and Ashton were both already mentioned. Excellent smooth cigars. I'm also a fan of Punch, but you have to make sure you pick out the gran cru or similar....the smaller ring gages are kinda shoddy. I'd also highly recommend Arturo Fuente cigars if you can find them....very spicy complex smoke. If you want something with some heavy flavor, try a good Hoyo de Monterrey.....very earthy but smooth. They'll stay with you the next day tho....takes several good listerine blasts to get that taste off your tongue.
La Finca is a very inexpensive, yet tasty cigar if you just want something decent to puff on at the golf course or something.
One bit of advice: I generally will buy a bigger ring gauge if possible as they often use better filler in the bigger gauges. Easy to sneak schwag in the small ones.
JR Cigars is a good place to find all this stuff online if you don't a happen to have a good smoke shop near you. I always stock up when visiting the inlaws since there happens to be a JR outlet in their hometown.
