So I saw in the "hot deals" forum the other day that Newegg was dumping a bunch of Chyang Fun cases. So I went to check it out and bought one for $30 + FREE shipping. I figured that was a hell of a deal for a decent looking mid-tower case. I received it today, and to be honest, it kinda sucks...

The USPS woman had a hard time lifting it up on the counter, I thought maybe she just wasn't very strong. I was suprised when I picked it up! IT WAS HEAVY!!! I later read on the fedex slip that the actual weight was 30lb.... I'd be suprised if newegg made any money selling this case after paying for the cost to ship it to me...

Everything on this case is either very heavy steel, or cheapo plasic... Everything on the front is cheap plastic. everything... I pulled off the side panel to look inside, and the panel weighed a ton!

The inside is ok though, very good sized. I think maybe this case will allow 4 full length cd drives with a standard ATX motherboard. So that's nice I guess. I usually have problems fitting cd drives in cases since they go too far back and hit the motherboard... It also has 2 external 3.5" bays, and 5 internal 3.5" bays.

For exhaust, it has the usual power suply fan, and one more 80mm fan. IT also has another empty 80mm fan space on the back. On the front where the 5 internal 3.5" bays are there is space for a full 120mm fan.

Unless you are looking for a cheapo case for your hard drive and cd drive array, skip past this one... I'm afraid to build a computer out of it for anybody just because they might get a hernia lifting it....

anyway, I hope you enjoyed my little review.

I would have to say that most cases, those not aluminum, are heavy. The Chieftec, Antec/Chemming steel cases are 30+ pounds. I've owned 2 of them so far and got rid of them soon after.

It's simply a cheap case, same with buying from Amamax. At least their cases have some windows and a 500w psu. You have a few spare parts lying around and need a case. These cases will do the job. I already have a Lian Li and a Lanboy. I'm not going to spend more money on a case.

As I see it, you can get flimsy cases for cheap (LCT, etc.) or you can run across a great deal like these CF cases. These are definitely NOT flimsy.
. Great design for an entry- to mid- level server box.

I got one of the $25 ones and except for some air input issues I actually like the case. I don't intend to move it unless I am working on it so the weight is not a problem.

got mine today. not that heavy at all. typical steel case, i think someone's spoiled. ;)

anyway, pretty well constructed, a lot better than the flimsy cheap cases at my local store. and hey, $25 shipped w/ a ps. can't complain.
